Nambucca medical centre now closed

Hibiscus Medical Rooms in Nambucca Heads has now closed and it has merged with its sister practice, Macksville Medical Centre.

Medical Centres Practice Manager Casey Shorter said it was disappointing the small centre in Nambucca Heads had to close, however Dr Sangita Khobragade had been the only doctor working there and all her patients have been invited to continue receiving clinical care from her at Macksville Medical Centre.

“It has been challenging for some time operating Hibiscus Medical Rooms, due to workforce shortages and rising costs,” she said.

“In order to try and be sustainable, the decision was made to merge Hibiscus Medical Rooms with nearby Macksville Medical Centre.

“Importantly, NVC Group’s medical centres are still offering the same services to patients, just from our Macksville centre’s address of 36 Wallace Street.

“I hope to continue seeing Dr Khobragade’s patients into the future at Macksville.”
