About Home Care

Support at Home is the Australian Government program that helps eligible older people continue living safely and independently at home.

From 1 November 2025, Support at Home replaced the Home Care Packages Program and Short-Term Restorative Care Programme. The Commonwealth Home Support Program will transition to Support at Home no earlier than 1 July 2027.

Depending on your assessed needs, support plan and available funding, NVC Group may provide services such as:

  • personal care
  • nursing support
  • allied health
  • respite
  • social support
  • transport
  • shopping support
  • meal preparation
  • domestic assistance
  • gardening and home maintenance.

How services are grouped under Support at Home

Support at Home services are grouped into three categories. These categories help determine how services are funded and whether a participant contribution may apply.

Clinical Supports
Nursing, allied health, therapeutic supports and care management.

Independence
Support with personal care, social connection, transport, respite and activities that help you remain independent.

Everyday Living
Domestic assistance, shopping support, meal preparation, gardening and other practical supports around the home.
