Macksville Medical Centre attends the highly successful ‘Agents of Change’ Conference

The Macksville Medical Centre’s Practice Manager, Casey Shorter, recently returned from the highly successful ‘Agents of Change’ Practice Staff Conference 2025. The conference was held at NEX Newcastle on the 14th and 15th of March. This bi-annual event, hosted by the Hunter, New England and Central Coast Primary Health Network, drew 180 practice staff from across NSW, and offering two days packed with presentations and workshops delivered by keynote speakers sharing a wealth of knowledge & conducting educational activities.

There were industry specific trade tables to visit throughout the two day event, opportunities to chat with industry experts, networking opportunities, as well as a Gala dinner on the Friday evening.

Throughout the conference attendees were encouraged to explore various strategies to increase sustainability and viability, maximize profitability, and effectively incorporate digital health technologies to enhance business efficiency. Speakers gave presentations on workforce recruitment, development and  fostering workplace culture, with interactive sessions focusing on the importance of providing equity of access and improving the patient experience, reinforcing the commitment to inclusive patient care.

Ms Shorter found the conference incredibly beneficial, saying,

The Macksville Medical Centre is fast approaching 50 years of caring for our local community. Their team of general practitioners and registered nurses have a widespread skill set focusing on chronic disease management, children and adolescent health, mental health and skin cancer management.
