Primary Objectives of the Role:
- Provide and/or coordinate clinical leadership in all aspects of the home and community operations.
- Work collaboratively with all levels of management, clinicians, carers, clients, families, support staff and other relevant community agencies to facilitate an effective client focused service.
- Assume the responsibility for the overall clinical management of clients, assisting and directing the Registered Nurses
- Maintain standards of nursing practice consistent with ANMC competencies and the philosophy and values of NVC Group.
- Promote and foster a progressive exchange of ideas, values and practices.
Selection Criteria
Essential:
- Nursing registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Current Police Check
- Demonstrated experience, knowledge and ANMC competencies for Registered Nurses.
- Demonstrated clinical problem-solving skills to maximise client care.
- Proven Management skills demonstrated team leadership, strong working knowledge of continuous improvement and familiarity with Client Care Services.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the requirements of the Aged Care Quality and Safety Standards.
- Ability to assist with the coordination of client care with a multidisciplinary team, providing person centred care.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunities, Work Health & Safety and Infection Control Standards and Regulations
- Commitment to ethical practice
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development
- Sound computer skills
- First Aid Certificate and Annual CPR certification
Desirable:
- Three years’ experience in provision of quality aged care in a clinical role.
- Awareness of quality improvement, accreditation and government funding
- Tertiary qualifications in Gerontology, Dementia Care or Palliative Care or demonstrated competence in these areas.
- Current drivers’ licence, with no restrictions
- Membership in Industry Reference Groups, committees or Associations.
