Graduate RNs sought for aged care specialty program

Published: 20 Jun 2023

If you are a Graduate Registered Nurse or are soon to graduate and want a career in aged care, join NVC Group’s New Graduate Aged Care Specialty Program.

NVC Group Executive Care Manager Mia Resurreccion said new nurses enrolled in the Grad RN program’s mid-year intake would develop their skills in assessment, critical thinking and decision making required to provide quality care to elderly residents.

“I encourage Grad RNs to apply for our New Graduate Aged Care Specialty Program because new nurses will be supported through on-site mentors to discover the broad variety of career pathways available in aged care,” she said.

“The aged care industry is a place where dedicated nurses can advance quite quickly and where they have the chance to support a client’s health and wellbeing over the medium to longer term.

“This helps to make nurses feel valued as they get to see the positive difference they make in the lives of senior residents over time.”

Registered Nurse Jashan Veerpal recently finished NVC Group’s New Graduate Aged Care Specialty Program. He studied a Bachelor of Nursing at the University of Wollongong and moved to the Mid North Coast from Sydney in 2022.

“I wanted to work for NVC Group as I desired to live in the country and this organisation’s Grad RN program was the only one to offer a Certificate IV in Leadership and Management as part of its program,” he said.

“I loved the program’s paid monthly education days, as it provided me with great opportunities to learn from experienced nurses.

“NVC Group really values its nurses, so it has allowed me to professionally develop already, by giving me paid study leave to complete a Certificate in Infection Prevention and Control.

“I would recommend the program to any Grad RNs wanting to kick-start their career.”

Applications are currently open for NVC Group’s New Graduate Aged Care Specialty until early July 2023. Program commencement is in July 2023 and pre-registration employment opportunities are available.
