Aged Care Employee Day celebrated at NVC!

NVC Group celebrated Aged Care Employee Day which is held annually on the 7^th August. Aged Care Employee Day is a chance to say thanks for caring. More than 370,000 aged care workers caring for more than 1.5 million older Australians.

NVC Group, a local non for profit, has thanked its great team by holding mornings teas or lunches at their Residential Aged Care Facilities.

Service Manager at Riverside Gardens, Kylie Kuwert, said the day provides an opportunity to say thanks for caring.

“We’ve had a wonderful day today! Our staff provide crucial, often complex care, for our residents. Today we got to thank them for their constant professionalism and kindness.”

“Aged Care Employee Day asks our community to take a moment and think about the hard workers. Those who provide personal care, the chefs, the cleaners, gardeners, laundry staff, activities coordinators and administration staff who work together to provide care to our loved ones,” said Joanne Parry, Service Manager at Autumn Lodge.

NVC Group is no stranger to providing care for older residents in our community. Next month, the non for profit, which was started by a group of volunteers, in the Nambucca Valley, is turning 50.

The organisation has a great month planned to celebrate. Starting with a community Walk Cycle Fundraiser kindly assisted by Rotary and ShoreTrack on the 8^th of September. The event will be at Bellwood Park, Nambucca Heads. It will feature a return walk from Bellwood to the V-Wall, a return cycle from Bellwood to Kingsworth Estate,  as well as a BBQ, face painting and a find a treasure for the kids with funds raised going to improve NVC Group’s aged care facilities outdoor areas.
