On the 8th September, as part of our 50th anniversary celebrations, NVC Group hosted a successful community fundraiser at Bellwood Park, Nambucca Heads.
Kindly supported by Nambucca Valley Rotary and ShoreTrack, our event attracted over 100 attendees of all ages for a morning of fun, food and fitness.
ShoreTrack volunteers, served more than 60 bacon and egg rolls, while Rotary volunteers were stationed on the cycle path, for cyclist who completed the scenic 8.5 kilometre return ride.
The Nambucca Valley Mayor Rhonda Hoban OAM was also present to award prizes to cyclists.
“We were happy that the morning has turned out so well, it was well supported by the community and we are very grateful to Rotary and ShoreTrack for their support. We hope to make this an annual event and build on what we were able to do this year,” said Jacqueline Mohr, Communication Officer.
Chris Mattick attended the morning and his father was one of the original volunteers, who started NVC Group 50 years ago.
“I am very proud of what that group of local volunteers were able to achieve for their community fifty years ago. I am proud of my Dad’s part in it,” Mr Mattick told our local newspaper, News of the Area. “To think they began with just an idea and basically no other resources and to see what NVC has become is just amazing and a wonderful achievement for the Nambucca Valley.”
From humble beginnings, founded by a handful of dedicated volunteers, NVC has grown into a thriving not-for-profit organisation which employs over 400 staff from Coffs Harbour to Kempsey.
