Aged Care Employee Day, held on the 7th August, was celebrated by NVC Group. The day shines a spotlight on the people who work tirelessly to ensure the dignity, comfort and wellbeing of older people. Their care is personal, selfless and often unsung but making a world of difference in the lives of older Australians every single day. The day recognises the workforce and is an opportunity to raise awareness of the rewarding and meaningful natural of a career in aged care.

Staff including nurses, personal care workers, chefs, cleaners, gardeners, laundry staff and administration staff play a key role in the lives of older people and their families. They offer not only medical and physical care but also emotional support and companionship.

“Our staff perform their roles with dedication and compassion, often going above and beyond to ensure the well-being of our residents,” said Jo Parry, Service Manager of Autumn Lodge in Macksville.

NVC Group acknowledged their staff with celebratory morning teas across our facilities.

“Aged Care Employee Day was an opportunity to honour and recognise the hard work and dedication of all of our staff. We value each and every one of our employees and are truly grateful for their tireless efforts every day. Their commitment and care make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents – and for that, we say thank you,” said Kylie Kuwert, Service Manager at Riverside Gardens.

“It’s also a chance for aged care workers to be recognised for their job skills and knowledge that is required to provide quality care to clients and the value of training in these important skills,” said Amanda Davis, from NV College. The local college offers specialised training in aged care in the area.
