Our Home and Community Care services costs are increasing

Published: 07 Jul 2023

New charges from the start of this financial year are commencing for Home & Community Care clients. It is the first time NVC Group has increased its charges to these clients since 2021.

NVC Group Home and Community Care Manager Jacqueline Wills said most clients would not notice a difference to the home care services they receive due to Government subsidies also increasing.

“NVC Group values each and every Commonwealth Home Support Programme and Home Care package recipient we assist and my decision to increase our charges was not made lightly,” Ms Wills said.

“Our organisation, being a not-for-profit, aims to keep its charges as low as possible, so it had absorbed wage increase costs and input costs until now.

“However, this new financial year starts with higher than normal inflation and input costs and there will be a substantial wage increase for many of our sector’s workers, so it was prudent to review the pricing schedule now.”

The 2023-24 pricing schedule is available here. Price increases will start from 3 July 2023.

There are also some changes for those clients who pay a means tested care fee or a client co-contribution. Rather than fortnightly invoices and direct debits, we will move to monthly invoicing and direct debits. These clients will receive their invoice in the first week of the month following service provision and the direct debit will be processed on the 10th day of the month.
