Kempsey office now opened

Published: 09 Aug 2023

NVC Group has opened a new office in Kempsey to meet the demand of seniors desiring care and domestic services in their own home.

NVC Group Home & Community Care Coordinator Lisa Fensling said the popularity of the Government’s Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) and Home Care Package program has grown immensely, igniting the need for broader service provision in the Macleay Valley area.

“It’s great to see our community of older Australians accessing My Aged Care and finding there are services available to support their choice to stay in their own home,” she said.

“I recently signed-up my 100th Commonwealth Home Support Program client from this region, which is an example of how our community values our services.

“I get a great sense of fulfilment coordinating home care services. I am able to support my community to have choice and control over their lives and the care that they receive.”

The types of support available through the Government’s CHSP or the Home Care Package program include:

  • help with housework;
  • personal care;
  • garden maintenance;
  • respite;
  • meals and food preparation;
  • transport;
  • shopping;
  • allied health; and
  • equipment.

CHSP provides entry-level support services to eligible older Australians and Home Care Packages may be approved by the Government for complex or intensive services. Sometimes there is an Income Tested Care Fee to be paid by the client.
