About 50 community care clients have chosen NVC Group as their provider since our South Kempsey office opened in August.
NVC Group Home & Community Care Coordinator Lisa Fensling said elderly residents in the Macleay Valley were choosing to live independently at home for as long as possible, creating a demand in home and community care.
“In the past five weeks alone, I have met with about 45 mature people, either desiring to change their community care provider or seeking one for the first time,” she said.
“I enjoy working with seniors to support them to live well in their own home, so it’s great to have met and signed up so many residents over the past three months.”
The home care services NVC Group offers are: cleaning, cooking, domestic duties, light gardening, nursing care, personal care, in-home respite and shopping and transportation.
Home care services are provided through the Australian Government’s Commonwealth Home Support Programme, Home Care Packages or private care.
To help meet the demand for services in the Macleay Valley region, NVC Group is seeking to hire a second Home and Community Care Coordinator for its Kempsey office. The not-for-profit organisation is also seeking to hire a Community Registered Nurse, carers, and cleaners.
Aged care nurses and carers received a wage increase of up to 15 per cent in July due to the Fair Work Commission’s determination, so remuneration is now much more competitive when working in these roles.
The Kempsey-based Home and Community Care Coordinator’s role is a key one and it involves meeting with seniors to build client networks and performing care management. There is just one week to go until applications for this role close, so apply before 5pm on 22 October 2023 via the careers page.
NVC Group provides home and community care services to residents living in the Macleay and Nambucca Valleys and Coffs Harbour.
